Re: L36 in SSEI, L67 to L36 swap
I don't know for certain, but I would cross check the part numbers for all the sensors you are running on the non-supercharged engine to see whether compatible with the ecm. I'm going to take a wild guess that some of the sensors, especially on the intake side of things are different. I did an L67 ...

Re: 2000 SSEi power loss issues
Based on your mileage, you cannot go wrong changing both O2 sensors and the EGR. If they don't do the trick, go back to basics and check around for a misfire.

Rack & Pinion - correct application
Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between the GM part numbers listed for the Rack & Pinions with variable assist (NV8) which SSEi models came with from 00-03.
So far per a couple GM part webpages I visited, seems like my '01 (and most '00-'02 models for that matter) reference GM part ...

Re: Sway Bar Bushings
Bringing up an old post for reference to all - I'm getting ready to do mine which is a 30 mm bar. Plan to order Moog Part # K6671 which is their version of polyurethane (supposed to be anti-squeak). I'll give them a try to see how they work.

Re: Timing or other issue after engine swap
That was what I suspected at first. Tried old mechanics trick of spraying mist of water to see if any arcing occurs as well and had none. I'll double check the strength of each coil, but the timing issue (valve chatter) that I heard means there is something else going on.

Re: Hood modification
I agree with others - unless you do wind tunnel testing, you'd be spending a lot of time and effort for potentially no benefit. I've done back to back tests at the strip with both open and closed scoops on a race car and saw zero difference. Unless you are directing the airflow into your engine (via ...

ok, where do i get one?
I used polyurethane body bushings, then added a rubber body bushing on top of that to help isolate some vibration. You get just a tiny bit of vibration over stock, but IMO, the decrease in engine movement outweighs the very minor vibration you might feel. Actually helps ...

Timing or other issue after engine swap
So after completing an L67 to L32 engine swap, I am noticing a definite hesitation during any type of spirited acceleration. Car seems to idle normally and light acceleration seems smooth. The hesitation is more pronounced in 2nd and 3rd gears. I only had a check engine light once in the past 2 ...

Do you think the lifters where to blame
For the spun bering. Or the extra boost?
I'm coming from dsm's. Where we would boost
The life out of our cars.
Rockers/Lifters would not be the sole culprit to cause a spun bearing. Could excessive boost have caused? Possibly, but that's like 400 lb man ...

Re: Gen 3 vs. Gen 5 Supercharger question
Got the odd sounds fixed - was an exhaust baffle. I have not driven the car hard yet since I want to give some time for the ECM to re-learn the settings. However at similar throttle settings, the Gen 5 definitely seems quieter than the Gen 3. It does still have the nice sucking sound at low rpm ...

Gen 3 vs. Gen 5 Supercharger question
So I just finished swapping my L67 for the L32 and noticed several things. First, seems the old Supercharger whine is now pretty much gone. Just wondering if anyone else that runs a Gen 5 noticed this difference. I don't even really hear any vacuum/sucking type noise at low rpm (my CAI is a metal ...

Re: Easier to install Headers with engine in car or out of c
Your terms are correct. Welding them in would make it impossible to remove them intact, so clamping really is the best option. The speed daddys are built surprisingly well. Very thick flanges, nice welds, etc. They fit perfectly. If you want to be extra sure about having no leaks, get a different ...

Re: summer project idea
Dollar for dollar, tossing in an L32 is not that expensive and if you know what you are doing, you are already in the 14 second range in the quarter. Subsequent hp upgrades are easy bolt-ons. With the Mustang, if you are going NA, you will have to plan your build upfront to balance the components ...

Supercharger Pulley Puller?
So although I have an MPS on my car, I'm in the process of picking up a used L32. Whenever I get it, will need to swap the MPS onto it. So I don't have to buy a $100 tool for one time use, does anyone have a Supercharger Pulley Puller they'd be willing to rent? Would be willing to pay you for ...

Re: Easier to install Headers with engine in car or out of c
Oh, found a 4th option - TOG headers.
Thanks for the comment on the Speed Daddy's. So I understand the terms everyone is using - the crossover pipe is the one that goes over the trans & connects to the back headers, and the down pipe is the one that connects the back header to the Cat? Is this ...

Re: fuel pressure issue
When I talked to John @ Intense the other day about my car, he mentioned that in time the fuel pumps may still work but do not put out enough pressure. You should have between 44-58 lbs of pressure after the regulator (depending on rpm), so if its not pushing enough pressure past a new regulator ...

Easier to install Headers with engine in car or out of car?
3 Questions:
1) I haven't decided yet I'm doing headers, but in case I do, is it hard to do when the engine is in? (mine is currently out).
2) Are there only 3 header choices out there? Pacesetter (biggest $), SLP (still big $), or speed daddy (mucho cheap)? From what I've read, some people may ...

Re: Mods necessary to drop in used L32 from GP in place of L
Great - thanks guys. Great to know my existing wiring will work. Will get back to you if I have more questions. Looking for a reasonable engine now. Not much locally available - most have over 60k miles and in the $1500 range. The is a low miler in AZ, but the shipping might kill me.
