fuel pressure issue

Post by excessive81 »

ok i been chasing this problem for weeks and it driving me up a wall. i have 20-25 psi fuel pressure withthe car running. goes up to 28-30 if pull vacum from pressure reg. so yesterday I started testing. got good voltage at pump. have 75-80 psi at fuel filter as well as after. also have 75 at the connection to the rail. but at the service port it is 28-30 with engine off. it is steady pressure and does not drop in any section or at rail. pump, filter and regulator is new and even exchanged the regulator agian to no avail. i stumped and starting to think i gonna just grab aeromotive rails n and press reg and be done but car making 300 hp not really needed beside bling factor which is good but not at the moment $ wise. any ideas

When I talked to John @ Intense the other day about my car, he mentioned that in time the fuel pumps may still work but do not put out enough pressure. You should have between 44-58 lbs of pressure after the regulator (depending on rpm), so if its not pushing enough pressure past a new regulator, might be your fuel pump is getting weak. If you have a high mileage car, that might be the culprit.

They get old and tired. Have you tested it while driving?
Have you checked your plugs?
