Re: Remote start and factory alarm don't like each other
Have an 04 SE and have a remote start in it. Has always worked great as long as I use only the remote start fob. If I use GM fob in the mix it will go into alarm. Its at least 10 years old. It is an Astroflex fob and I believe made by Astrostart. All of these vehicles with PK ignition have to have ...

Re: 60 mph shake
Haven't checked back on this topic in a while since I don't have this issue anymore. I replaced rear shocks in February of this year and the tires in late April of this year. Quick left & right shimmy gives very quick response with no sway. I do however note something in the last couple of months ...

Re: Seat covers
What colour are you looking for and for what seat? I have a grey leather front passenger that had power seat from early 2000. I could find what year if I can find receipt. Used only mechanical & electrical to add power seat to my 04.

Re: 60 mph shake
I have replaced the rear shocks twice in the course of driving it 100,000KM as well as rotate the tires. Never has been any bounce in the shocks or the struts up front so I am kind of puzzled how the flat spots appear. Out of balance would definetly be an issue. The car had new tires when I ...

60 mph shake
This is certainly not a new topic however to me involves a solution to a common problem among Bonneville owners. I have had for a number of years the common problem of 60 mph shake or vibration on my 04 Bonne SE. From year to year the problem kept getting worse and I couldn't find the problem. The ...

Re: Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
I used a sharp file to bevel the end. Its' only approximate I guess but it is the o'rings that do the sealing. Mine are holding air nicely. Had to do multiple hack saw cuts on the shock nipple to get the o'rings out without damaging them. I don't give up easy as there are no replacement lines ...

Re: Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
Did cut the plastic line back a bit, beveled the end and it seems to be holding air. It is the little O-rings at the end of the line that seal the connection. Took much longer than anticipated but good to go for a few more miles.

Re: Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
Rust we get plenty out here! I guess I'll just cut the line a little shorter and re-insert into the hole in new shock and connector and clip to hold in place will be easy enough. Thanks.

Re: Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
Did your lines come out the old shocks easy or did you have to cut the plastic line? I just can't pull my lines out of the old shocks. The clip comes off easy enough and the connector does as well but the line is not coming off.

Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
Just installing new Monroe rear air shocks (MA822) on my o4 Bonneville but can't get the airlines out of the old shocks(also MA822 shocks). What do you do just cut airline off as close to shock as possible and then insert plastic line end in to new shock? I've installed 2 pairs like this before on ...

Keyless entry quit working
Have a question about another car in family. Pontiac G6 2008 had the keyless entry (both remotes) quit working while parked at home with owner on vacation in Costa Rica. Fuse is good so I suspect a ground point maybe? Does anyone know where the ground point for Keyless module would be or what else ...

Re: Motor mounts
You should be able to (will have to) remove the broken ends out of the tranny in order to replace rear mount. Will have to be drilled out and that will be no fun. You can try bolt removal bits. You drill a hole down the center of the broken bolt and use these removal bits to try to spin them out ...

Re: rear shocks
I replace the originals with the Monroe brand 80000KM ago on my 04SE and they are still fine. I don't haul many heavy loads and few rough roads. The air part still works well. I had also used them as a replacement on my 01SE and worked well there to.

Re: lighting up rear reflector
I bought them online off an ebay search. Also can be purchased from Oznium.com I believe it is. I mention this in the posts on page 9 June 25, 2012 referenced in the earlier post. The length of LED strip needs to be 38 inches with 96 LED's. This perfectly spans the length of the reflector once ...

Re: lighting up rear reflector
I've done this to my 04 Bonne SE. Yes there is a thread on this. Parts list is short. Basically, purchase a string of LED lights(appropriate length). You need to remove the reflector, cut back of it open close to top and glue in the LED strip on top. (It is a bit of a bear to remove that reflector ...

Re: Frost! ...and a broken wiper.
I didn't remove the nut from my 04 SE but my experience with GMs is that it will be the wiper arm end that is stripped. The wiper arm end that is attached to the shaft is made of a softer splined metal which is designed to strip if the wipers are activated and can't move for some reason (preventing ...

Re: 04 SE....Convertor issues
Funeral for my brother is over so finally got codes read and there was nothing current set. In the history we found PO128B Engine coolant sensor and code P1626C theft deterrant signal(hasn't been any issues with this). However we did check temps on the catalytic convertor and rear was only 40 deg ...

Re: 04 SE....Convertor issues
Still haven't got codes read however something strange with the SES light. It has gone out again. The common denominator with the SES light going out is that oil level was about quarter or maybe little more low and when I topped it up in both cases drove a few miles and voila the light went out. How ...

Re: 04 SE....Convertor issues
I will definetly post codes as soon as I can get them read and yes I'm aware that the tranny has to heat up before it locks up. I guess I was wondering what would be the reason for a delayed lockup and what I could do to rectify same. Fluid looks very good and no smell although it hasn't been ...
