rear shocks

Sorry for probably re-posting this question, but I've had difficulty using search function for this comparrison issue. Need to replace leaking rear airshocks on my 04 SE. Was wondering what to go with....KYB SR1002, or Monroe MA822.
I've heard the Monroe's have closest ride characteristics to stock, but some feel too "mushy". KYB's seem to be firmer?.
I would like to stick with these two brands, as I've heard others have ride and air hose fittment problems. Was told that the Napa brand are basically the MA822's.

Any feedback with experience on these replacements would greatly be appreciated!.

I went with the MA822- installed, work fine. Not sure what the mushy issue is- it is a air shock- I sense they typically all respond similarly.

Super easy to replace- consider replacing your mounts at the same time (also easy).

I have Monroes and while they are alright, they are a little softer than I remember stock being.

I would go with the KYBs. Get them off Partsgeek. I believe they are cheapest there.

I replaced the Monroes on my 2003 with KYB. Much happier with them.

Chances are, though, that all those shocks are made in the same factory in China, so go with what you like.

I have used Monroe twice. I am going with KYB this time. Seems like the Monroes get soft after about 75,000 miles and too soft by 100,000 miles. - BC

I replace the originals with the Monroe brand 80000KM ago on my 04SE and they are still fine. I don't haul many heavy loads and few rough roads. The air part still works well. I had also used them as a replacement on my 01SE and worked well there to.

Ive had the Monroes on mine for over 80k also and have not noticed a problem. I just drive mine to work and daily tasks, I am not looking for a performance sedan. Take that with a grain of salt.

My dad's has Monroe and I have kyb. I like the kyb since they are firmer and not as bouncy

A forum search yields generally unfavorable comments.
Typically KYB and Monroe are recommended.
