Re: Photo timeline of my now gone 99 SLE...
I'm starting to worry, Haven't heard from my Insurance adjuster in 2 weeks now if not longer. Have left 4 voice mails, and I called again yesterday to no avail.... I'm hoping they did pick up the car from where it was, and I'm not getting charged $75 bucks a day by an impound yard somewhere.

My 99 had a factory installed one, easily removable. Loop type fasteners, 2 per side. Is actually quite handy to have

Sad to see this one go, but we're all happy that you made it through. If you put 3 hearts in that one, I can't wait to see what you'll do for your next ride.
This one kinda fell into my hands to replace an aging (and not gracefully...) 95 Integra. Not sure what direction I'll be going ...

Re: Photo timeline of my now gone 99 SLE...
No idea, nothing similar around me. Been driving my old Jeep YJ around for the time being. Have been looking at some TDi Jetta's and Golfs. Am not buying a car until I'm working again, so will have to see what's available when that time comes.

Well Guys and Gals, She's officially gone :( Spent 10 months and 35,000kms together
Tried to get one last drive out of her, from Edmonton, back to Nanaimo BC. Trip was less than successful, ended up leaving the Bonne in Salmon Arm for ICBC to pick up, and had a friend jump on the ferry and drive ...

Re: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ
One of the Pontiac Torrents on the lot at work has that fob.. It's HUGE.. It would drive me absolutly nuts to carry it around in my pocket.
Awesome LTZ by the way, That interior doesn't look GM at all, and it's a good thing;)

Re: Overheating...
Poked around a bit further... Turned on A/C, and fans didn't turn on, neither did they with defrost, even with it running at about 125C.
Will try finding the relay tomorrow (underhood panel I assume?) and swapping for a similar looking one to see. I have two fans, If it makes a difference

Overheating...
Just got back from a drive out to the mall, maybe 25k long. On the way out noticed car felt like it was driving "weird" Don't know how to explain it any better than that... sat in a drive thru and noticed my scangauge was reading 125C, it normally sits at when fully warm, between 85-90ish (not sure ...

Re: Code: P0440?
Have been dealing with this one for months as well. Used to come on every time I'd get below 1/4 tank or so in the summer. Temperature changed, and it was far less common, and was gone for easily 3 months before it popped back last week along with a ineffiecent cat code. Strange.

Dude, you don't NEED a buy-back. The value of those repairs has been MASSIVELY inflated because they're using prices for new parts. Find the panels used and have them paint-matched, and I guarantee you can come in way lower than ICBC's estimate and force them to pay for the repair at a lower cost ...

Didn't another member have a similar problem in the past with the Canadian gov't insurance? Something about how there has been too much fraud in the past with cars getting "totalled" (by having their friends at the body shop say the damage is way more than it is) and then people buying them back ...

Re: Looks like she's a goner....Edited @ bottom
So after some more emails and phone calls with ICBC, they will not whatsoever allow for a buy back on my car... I leave back to BC on the 26th, and will be driving my Jeep YJ around once I finally turn in the car... I bought my parts car from ICBC, and might try to get this one back that way, only ...

This, among other things has prompted a move back to BC. Am trying to delay this for a while so I can drive the car back to BC. Then I can deal with ICBC in person, plus i have bodyshop connections there as well.

I don't think I have a choice anymore, as the adjuster has came to see the car, and it has now been deemed a loss, and "unfit" for the road. The worst part is, I cannot find another one even close to what I had in this one.. Might be onto a new venture for now I guess.

Finding parts isn't the issue. But they will not allow me to keep, or even buy the car back.... Such a waste. I'm beyond upset, and was treated like trash on the phone.

Phone call today... Nothing but attitude from the lady on the other end. Apparently I was supposed to have been called last week and told, but the car is indeed a write off. She was calling in regards to the salvage release i was supposed to sign and send back, which I haven't yet. The total amount ...

Small update, They are covering the claim, there was some debate as to whether they were going to or not. So, am not waiting to hear if its a loss or repairable...

Re: Looks like she's a goner....
Only in some instances they will let that happen. I`ve heard that they will give you the amount of the estimate, and let you keep the car, so Obviously that`s what I`m hoping for00Beast wrote:You can't buy it back from them if it is totalled?
