Need to sell it, but how (much)?

As some of you may know, the tranny went in the 97 again (this makes the fourth time I believe) since 82k. At 120,250 at this point, FIFTY miles out of warranty, it sits in the driveway because the transmission is really starting to slip when you give it throttle, and the fluid pump is making a ...

Re: Can a transmission even make this noise?

I'm down lol. But yeah distance seems to be a problem.

Only two things I can think of may have contributed to this. First thing is if I stopped fast enough (ceramic pads and what not), the trans would fall out of gear for a second or two. Second thing is, about three weeks ago I accidentally bumped ...

Re: Can a transmission even make this noise?

I asked them that question every time after I had a problem with the freshly installed trans, and they always claimed to have flushed the trans cooler. I've always flushed the cooler on my own when I've done tranny swaps on other vehicles. I'm less than 100 miles out of warranty and they won't do a ...

Re: Can a transmission even make this noise?

Eh it's the fluid pump. It's slipped a few times and made some very very strange noises/feelings. I'm scrapping the last GM vehicle I buy by either buying a trans and selling it or parting it. Getting a foxbody mustang or similar.

Can a transmission even make this noise?

At first I thought it was the bearings in the motor, but now I'm leaning towards the trans because A) you can't hear it much at all at idle, B) oil pressure is never below 40 psi and is acting the same way it always has, and C) that's where the noise is coming from.

I have three vids. I just ran ...

Re: Will 97 LeSabre Tranny go into 96 Bonneville-HELP!

x2 on just dropping subframe. This is how I did it on my gf's father's Pontiac Montana and the second time we did it (first trans was shot), we did it in under 4 hours. Now the first time expect to take a whole day if you're not very mechanically inclined. I think we got it done after 7 hours the ...

Fixing up suspension and anyone have a scanner?

I've finally gotten fed up with my dated 120k mile suspension on my car. With every beginning of a turn comes a tap of the brakes so that I'm sure not to roll off the road in the turn. I just sold my 94 SSEi, so I'm putting some money into the green one to make it a daily driver for longer. I just ...

Re: A Normal Day in the Oil Tanker

I get quite a lot of crap for mine, but I also get a lot of very nice comments on the way it looks. Friends are always just joking when they say anything of course, because they know I'll kick their asses :P (just kidding!)

My buddy had a 91 Camaro Z28 and he called my car a slow boatmobile. With ...

Theoretically, if I were to get my hands on an L67, then...

What all would I need to make it work in my car? I'm talking buy the L67 bolted to a 4t65 along with the PCM. Better fuel pump? My car JUST fell out of warranty, and the transmission has never been that great. If either the engine or trans fail, I would like to see myself doing an L67 and FE2 swap.

Re: I give up...

I spent $160 on a two hour diagnostic for them to tell me 'We're not sure...'. I see why it's called the stealership. This is the first and last time I've ever taken my car to a shop on my bill.

I give up...

I'm selling the 94. I'm tired of devoting hours into it only to get nowhere. It's going to the stealership to get what will probably be a couple hundred dollar diagnostic done, then it's going to my friend who's 91 Camaro needs a little work as a daily driver. Using the money to pay off the ...

Re: Post-damage Whorage

Oh ok. BTW, thx for the comments. And yeah... $2400 to fix, but I can't STAND driving a nasty looking car and can't afford a new one while I'm in school so this will have to do. It's in need of new suspension quite badly, the rear exhaust scrapes like never before (actually thinking my springs are ...

Re: Post-damage Whorage

No wax here... just last touch Meguiar's stuff. I've always been told the paint is too soft to wax this early. I figured the last touch isn't really a wax per say, so it wouldn't hurt anything. Wax was done in early June, as mentioned .

Post-damage Whorage

So I haven't taken any pix of my car at all lately to post on here, therefore I decided to combine topics and show you what happened to my car, and how it turned out.

I went to Michigan for a week and a half in late June. We stayed at my Aunt & Uncle's house near Capac, MI. My Aunt and Uncle aren't ...

Want a Basic Remote Start

I want a remote start for my car. I'm tired of hearing the IAC through the FWI every time I take off in my car - too dang loud for my liking and I'm tired of everyone asking what's wrong with my car when we leave work or school at night. The car is totally silent (aside from Flowmaster, FWI and ...

I actually liked my NXT better than my previous ten bottles of Gold Class. Are you guys applying by hand or by machine?

Btw, nice looking car, wasn't even aware you had one of those :).

Re: Oil in LIM in 16k mi (somewhat urgent)

Just a note... that PCV o-ring must have sealed things up because when I used to shut down I used to get a sound like loss of compression through the intake. Now it doesn't really make that noise anymore.

Re: Oil in LIM in 16k mi (somewhat urgent)

Yeah I remember there being a bit of oil in there the first time I dove into this, but not as much as there is now. I'll bet it's all that O-ring. Wonder if that could explain the quart of oil that typically disappeared between every 4k oil change. Just hoping that re-torquing LIM cures gradual ...

Re: Oil in LIM in 16k mi (somewhat urgent)

100% certain it's only oil. It's an AC Delco PCV, however, I just noticed that the PCV itself does not have an o-ring on it. Could that be a cause?
