I went to Michigan for a week and a half in late June. We stayed at my Aunt & Uncle's house near Capac, MI. My Aunt and Uncle aren't used to too many people being over their house, all their kids have graduated college and started families. I had parked at the end of the part of the driveway that stems into their garage. One day, I came home from the Zoo and my Uncle had this really strange look on his face that I've never seen before. He just kinda stared for a few secs, then he said "I have some bad news". I was worried that he was going to say someone in the family was sick/passed away, he really shocked me. It was then that he told me he backed into my car with his brand new GMC Sierra pick up truck. I hadn't seen the car yet, as I met him at my Grandmas and was driving my Aunt & Uncle's Yukon Denali. He showed me his truck, and when he opened the tailgate, it fell right out of the hinge and almost to the ground. Scared the crap out of me. He felt HORRIBLE, because he knows how well I take care of my stuff and felt like he ruined all my work. I said not a big deal, it's materialistic, it can be fixed!
Well I went back to their house, and was slightly relieved to see this:

Body line was SLIGHTLY off, but nothing major behind that

I don't know why everything is like super bright in this one, pretty sure my phone got into the medicine cabinet again.

The thing that worried me most was how far the quarter panel was pulled out from the trunk - I thought something big moved. My e-brake was on when he hit me, so when I went to shift it out of park, there was so much pressure on the parking pawl that I had to really yank the shifter out of park (not thinking about the pressure being held on by the e-brake.)
After arriving back in PA, I had the only local shop I trust in the area quote it, and it took eighth days for AAA (Uncle's INS) to really take any action on it. Once I finally found the right person to talk to though, the car was in the shop within 5 days. One big problem I ran into was a rental because I'm only 20 years old. I ended up having to ride my bike EVERYWHERE (including 20 mile hike to school... during the rain...)
Well I took the car in last monday and got it back last thursday, and went over it with some last touch and hyper dressing just to bring out the detailing it got in early June.
Here's what came to be of that:

And my very first HDR EVER, and it was performed without a tripod

They re-cleared the back bumper, matched the trunk and roof pillar and cleared everything back there. It looks great... twenty times better than when I took it in. Makes me want to sand down all the clear on the rest of the car, re-paint the hood and re-clear everything that hasn't been yet. My hood still shows my marks from the first time I used my UDM w/ 3m Ultra Heavy Cutting Compound during my noob days
What do you guys think? I'm super impressed with the work done... they even aligned my fender for me and put new bushings in the rear passenger door just because I told them that's what stopped the truck and I didn't want crappy hinges in a few months. Windows are being stripped of the joke that was once referred to as a light tint and being replaced with 20% tint by me. Ordered professional tint from a company that cuts the tint exactly to window specs via computer, along with a kit to apply it. We shall see what happens... only 27 bux if I screw it up
