Just curious on how to do it, do you take out all three of the bolts then use longer bolts to bolt it down. I was just thinking about

doing it but thought it was unsafe to remove all the bolts at once. It seems very simple to do and i just want to make sure i am not

under thinking it and mess something up.

Strut tower brace.

There is no problem removing all the strut bolts, the cars weight forces them into the pockets.

I wouldn't lift or drop the car or mess with the steeringwheel while you have the nuts or bolts off. That'll goof your alignment up.

Ok thank you, does the STB have to be modified in anyway. I heard that the 3.8 alternator gets in the way, is that true?

I've read where some have had a clearance issues with the alternator on the L67, but I have about 3/4" clearance. I'm not sure but I think the alternator is maybe in a different position on the L36, so you might not have any problem at all. If your trans mounts are worn the engine might be able to hit it, but if it moves that far the mounts should have been replaced already. Also longer bolts are not necessary.

I had a clearance problem when I put my stb on. I had to bend the brackets to make some more room.

Eric and I will be adding these to our '05 SLEs shortly. If I could easily located longer bolts (did not come with braces) I would prefer to use these. Anyone know where I might be able to get these?

WhiteArrow3800 - sounds like oyu used the factory bolts. No issues to date? How long has it been installed?

How much longer did you go with over the factory - like 1/4"?

I think so, that's about the thickness of the bracket.

I did re-use the stock bolts without issue for 3 years now.
