So as everyone knows, I'm getting a ZiLLA Motorsports Ported and Polished M90 housing from Dr. Supercharger himself. Since it's almost finished now, I should be getting it in a few weeks, and will be installing it over my winter break, along with some other mods.

My plan is to strip the top-end down and clean up the LIM and head ports (chamfer the heads to eliminate dead space between LIM, gasket and head) and just clean up and smooth the LIM runners. I've discussed this with Bill, I think I have what I need to do here pretty well understood.

My questions:
I'm not planning on doing headers in the forseeable future, I don't have the $$$ for SLP's or used TOG's, and I don't want to do SpeedDaddy's or SSAC's. I do however, have a front manifold here (off of Jovan's car), as well as both MIG and Arc welders, along with a giant air compressor and a decent die-grinder. I plan on porting this manifold, sandblasting it, ceramic-coating it and installing it, to go with my DP, the added flow and not have to skew my injectors, etc. What needs to be done?? Pics would be great, along with the bits I'll want for it and a detailed description.

Other plans:
Get a spare fuel rail from haro to clean up and paint silver or polish. I'll figure that out once I get it.
Possibly 1.9's, rods and LS6 springs, depending if I can get my parents to consider $250 or whatever towards YT's for my x-mas presents, or if haro sells his off the 00.
Wrinkle Coating my TB for aesthetics. I know it's not going to improve anything, but putting a corroded TB on that nice S/C would be sacrelidge.
Re-coating the nosedrive and rotor-case, along with installing a new coupler and obviously fresh fluid.

Essentially, my plan is to make the most of all these mods with what I have or can acquire cheaply, and make my engine bay match and look good again.

If anyone has any better ideas for what I can/should do, etc, I'd be happy to hear it.

Is there any reaso you would change the push rods? I am running 130# springs and the stocks are fine. The thicker rods are recommended for a lot higher RPM's and power here.

Matt, the OR rods restrict oil to the top of the engine at high-revs. I'd buy them with the rockers, even the YT rockers come with new pushrods.

That's exactly what I meant Bill. Ya'll knew what I meant.

If they come with the rockers, I would use them. If they are an extra cost, I wouldn't worry about it. When I talked to Scott, he said they would only be needed if you are going to be running the motor over 6k for an extended period.

If you plan to port a front manifold, you have to build up the material first on the 'neck' of each runner where the restriction is, then grind it out to match the flow of the rear. If you do that right, no skew is necessary. That's just for an overly large Plog (that wasn't designed correctly).

You have to ARC weld it with NICKEL rod. If this is your plan, you better let me know now before I ship, so I can throw some nickel rod in the box for you unless you just go buy it yourself. Cast iron must always be welded with nickel rod.

If you're willing to give me some, I'll gladly take it. Throw how much you think I'll need in there.

If anyone has any pictures of a welded then ported front manifold I'd appreciate it.

Sounds like you got quite the project on your hands Ed. I will be really anxious to see it all completed. Sounds like your dressing it up nicely! I really wish my car wasn't a DD....although I do like showing her off! :D

Nothing more than anyone else has done. Provided there aren't any issues, I don't for-see more than 2 days on it.

Your coating should be the Satin Black header coating I used. You can self-apply with a glass refillable touch-up sprayer from Home Depot or Lowes. It's ceramic, durable, and very affordable. Ceramic header spray paint is a joke long-term.

Yup, that was my plan, I remember you linking to it from Speedway Motors.

4 oz is plenty for all 3 pieces.

is the sprayer. No thinning needed.

Cool. I suppose since I have a full set of spare manifolds I might as well port & coat them all...

Any preferences on what bit I should use? A link would be great.

No porting on the rear. You're matching the front to what the rear is (front is restricted in comparison).

Just a standard carbide burr for a die grinder.

Ok gotcha. Ill just leave the rear alone then. Not gonna go through the hassle of removing it for a little ceramic coating...

Do it. Clean up any burrs or roughness to match the front, but don't PORT. And you want ceramic on that one for sure. It's easier to remove with the blower and LIM off (access to studs) and remove it through the bottom, easier than headers.

Alright, I'll try and get it all done. I'll probably do the porting and stuff over thanksgiving wknd, depending on what else is going on. Pics will definitely come.

Probably gonna end up getting this: http://www.eastwood.com/carbide-burr-sf ... haped.html

I should have some sanding rolls for my dremel in my kit, if not I'll get the dremel ones or w/e. Not gonna spend $32 on a porting kit....
