Hello,

twice while driving my 1995 Bonneville SSE today the gages, the compass, and the DIC all reset themselves. the gages went back and forth like they do when the car is starting up and everything on the DIC lit up and everything on the compass lit up and then went back to displaying their own proper attributes.

has anyone had this happen to them before? what could cause it to do that?

The first time it did it no other functions were effected, the radio was fine and the car continued to drive properly, but the second time it did it I swear the car seemed to hesitate for a second and then drive normally again.

any ideas?
thanks

I had that same problem for months inmy '95 SSEi. Turned out it was the battery. Best I could figure was that one of the interanl connections was going bad. It startedout for me where most of the time, I would only notice it happening when I see the gauges reset while driving. It was so fast, nothing else skipped a beat. Eventually it got to the point where it woulnd't always start, or would go completely dead in corners at times. I got a red top battery, never happened again ;)

Thank you for the info, I'll try a new battery soon and then reply back.

P.S. I see that you are the Owner / Admin of the Minnesota Bonneville Club website, I have tried to access that website for about a week and I can never get to it, I always get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message, is the site permanently down? I clicked on the link in your signature and the MN Bonneville Club link at the top of this forum page and neither address seems to work.

The MN site opens fine for me. Do you have another browser to try? or should I also ask what browser are you using now?

Well I tried a new battery and the problem has seemed to go away, thanks so much for the info.

As for my problem with the minnesota pontiac board, it must be something screwy with my windows xp operating system, I have a dual boot system, both windows xp and windows vista on the same machine and when I try to open the mn pontiac board with my internet explorer or firefox browser while running windows XP it won't open, but when I boot up using windows vista and use my internet explorer browser I can get to the website just fine... so something must be up with my windows xp operating system...

thanks again
