The oil pressure gauge works has 45 Lbs of oil pressure running, have checked it with external gauge no problem.
Will work fine then drop to 0 and come back on. Anyone got a schematic or advice.

Have you checked oil level? Usually it will do that when its running low and you are braking.

When you checked it with a mechanical gauge, was it under the same conditions? Does the gauge always do a full sweep during start up? Even though they usually fail to the high reading, the oil pressure sensor is the most likely suspect if you answered yes to those and Haro's questions.

the gauge goes to 120 then back to 45 or 50 I think it is a ground problem when you put it in drive with foot on the brake it is fine. You put it in reverse with foot on brake and it drops to 0. have moved wires and makes no difference.

This started one year ago it was staying on 120 that was no problem then it started dropping to 0 so I replaced it.
Then it stayed on 0 all the time now it is doing the jumping around. Still think it is the sender if so which brand.

I recently replaced two oil pressure senders, one in my 2000 SSEi, and another in a 2003 SSEi that I sold. I got both senders from Advance, and they both worked great. If the sender stayed on 0 from the time you installed it, you should have taken it back right away.

AC/Delco is recommended. There have been reports of other brands failing after a year or two.
