i was driving down the road as i was coming to a red light every dash light came on i pulled over and and they went off, so i pulled a u turn. the alt gauge started flickering i checked the wiring going to the battery and the alt.. is there anything esle i can check

Check for corrosion UNDER (inside) the boots on the battery cable ends. You must remove the boots to find it. Also check the ground Bus on each side of the car, under the carpet just inside the door sills on each front door for corrosion. These are the two most common culprits for your classic symptoms.

thanks man, i checked the battery cables... in between them was nasty so i took a wire brush to them and that took care of the problem i was having..
