My '95 Bonneville runs great and looks great but the Traction Control Light is illuminated on the dash. Pushing the Traction Control Button on the console has no effect. The dash light comes on after I begin to drive the vehicle. When I start the car, the dash light is not on but it comes on after I am underway at low speed. It will stay on until I shut the engine off. Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem and fix the problem?????

Sounds like your traction control system has detected a fault and is illuminated to let you know there is a problem, and that the system is off. Is your Anti-Lock Brake light on too? The two systems are tied together.

No. The Anti-Lock Brake Light is not on.

You have a TC fault. The self-test failed.

The only way to KNOW what's wrong is to get it scanned by a Tech1 (dealer). Most mechanics do not have the ability to scan these codes.

I had the same thing on my '97 Olds LSS when I got it. You're in no danger driving it as-is, but it can be annoying. The dealer i bought my LSS from put a third-party extended warranty on the car so I could get it fixed for a $100 deductible. Otherwise, the bill at a Buick dealership would have been around $2,200. That warranty also paid for a water pump and a starter, which were the worst problems I ever had with the car.
