Just recently my transmission has been making a buzzing sound. The fluid was changed 5 years ago. The fluid is a orange color and does not smell burnt. No metal particles on dipstick. Transmission drives fine except for this noise. Will a filter and fluid flush fix this sound? I was told it was the chain in the transmission making noise. It comes from the driver front side. Wheel bearing ls were changed last year with Timken brand.

Could also be a sticky valve or check ball in the valve body. Could try adding some LUcas or seafoan trans tune before doing the filter and fluid.

How much would I add and how many miles should I keep it it the trans until the fluid filter swap?

Depends on what you get. Follow the directions and run it a 100 miles or so before doing the filter.

Also forgot to mention that the sound only occurs when the transmission is at operating temp. The sound is nonexistent if the transmission is cold.
