Since I'm going to be putting the 96 in full time use soon, I put my extra sub in it to make it more enjoyable. It is a lot more powerful than it was in the 04, which is making me rethink how things are wired up since it almost seemed like it wasn't working before.

On my '05 GXP, one of my original, 10 year old, 33K mile, Goodyear RSA tires went flat on my way to work. I had just bought the emergency kit, so I tried to pump it up with the onboard compressor. At 20 PSI, I could hear air leaking out of the tire, so I put on the spare. Drove home and ordered 2 new Goodyear F1 Asymmetric All Season tires for replacement. Next month, I'll order 2 more so the GXP will have all new shoes.
Tonight I got my STS ready for winter. My winter rims and tires went on and I changed the cabin air filter. It also got an oil change the other day. Oh yeah, I drove it to my GM dealer to pick up some parts for my next Bonneville mod. Details to be released in the spring

Not sure about the rest of you, but it's hard for me to get the wife out of the car long enough to do even routine maintenance, but as luck would have it she's been gone for a couple of days on business, so I dived in and did a coolant change, oil and filter change, new air cleaner, new cabin filter, and after reading about dirty MAF's, I decided to pull and inspect and clean that. Guess I've been lucky and keeping my fingers crossed but I've never had a sensor issue after 154,000 miles on our Bonneville. After reading about dirty and crudy MAF's I was kinda surprised that mine was pristeen, looked like new. Not sure why some people end up with dirty ones unless their getting dirt by the air cleaner, anyhow those resistor wires are tiny so if you need to clean yours use the CRC MAF cleaner and treat the sensor gently.

Put both away for the winter (well, one could safely argue that old blue never comes out from storage anyway, but...) Just in time too! Tomorrow night into Saturday anywhere from 5" to a foot of snow is expected here. :( I hate Chicago winters and it ain't even friggin winter yet! Late March seems soo far away...
Tonight I will be cranking the torsion bars up on the Suburban and bringing the plow home from my other house.

Went to LKQ and picked up a front plate bracket, some screws to hold the cladding on, and a bunch of door panel light housings. Also found a center console cupholder that wasn't broken!
Cleaned the inside out and put all the LKQ stuff on.

Turned 150k on the Burb on my way home this afternoon;
I have a laundry list of stuff that needs to be done to it though.
- Front brakes
- front wheel speed sensors (they trigger the ABS under 5mph when braking which is a known issue)
- Perhaps one new wheel bearing
- Shocks and other suspension work.
- Exhaust.
- And now both main seals leak like a drippy faucet. :(

Drove it 6 blocks to get a couple packs of smokes for the wife and myself.
I try to do as little as possible in the way of anything else other than normal maintenance.
Worked on the truck all day yesterday. New plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, O2 sensor, and PCV valve. Set up my new bottom tool chest and did a little organizing. Also took the tonneau cover off the truck and hope to get the new one on tonight

Yesterday I replaced the rear struts on that stupid pregen GP with the help of Matt. It was a pretty terrible job because of a broken bolt. It solved this horrible clunk that I had after changing direction, and while it didn't completely stop the car jerking to the right over bumps it reduced it a lot and kind of narrows down where it might be coming from.

Worked on the truck again last night. Put the new roll up tonneau cover on, installed the tailgate protector, and bug deflector. Started it for the first time since I did all the work and took it around the block. Everything seems to be in good working order. The one time I got on it I did not get any misfire codes so hopefully that is a good sign my problem is fixed.

Yesterday I went to lunch and my starter decided it didn't want to be a starter anymore. So I missed the rest of the day at work and changed the starter in the White Castle parking lot. I like doing the whole winter beater thing, but I hate when things break. The more I fix on this thing the more I care about what happens to it.

Took the beater to the car wash. Only had one piece of trim fall off due to rust, so not too bad. It got most of the moss and tree sap off, and all the chrome bits are shiny again!
