Car randomly stopped running.
Car randomly stopped running.
So about 20 minutes ago my car refused to run. It will turn over then die off with a popping sound. If i give it gas it will run as long as I keep my foot on the accelerator. It has gas and the oil is not low. I do need new plugs and wires which I have plans to get done on Saturday. Car is a 2002 SLE with 99978 miles. Any ideas what the problem might be?

First problem, this should be posted in mechanical. A moderator will go ahead and move this for us in a bit.
Second problem, what does the popping sound like? Metallic? Backfire? If you disconnect one of the vacuum lines, do you smell gas in the vacuum lines?

Sorry for posting in the wrong section. It was the fuel vacuum harness. Has been taking care off. However the car does have a very high idle. Believe that will be taking car of when I put on new plugs and wires.

Fuel vacuum harness? Was there fuel in the vacuum lines? If so replace the fuel pressure regulator immediately!
