Re: Quick wheel question

On my 99 SE, factory 15" wheels from a 95 GP would not clear the calipers, but worked OK on the back

Re: 98 Bonneville....rear speaker wire polarity

When you hook a speaker up backwards to another in a perfect world they actually cancel each other out (being exactly out of phase with each other) and you'd hear nothing. But no two speakers can produce the exact same reproduction of the audio signal from the amp, and the distance between them ...

Re: 98 Bonneville....rear speaker wire polarity

GM stereos run on a floating ground, so as stated previously you are not going to find out by measuring resistance from wires to ground

Also, as previously stated, audio is AC; and as such, there is no positive and negative. The terminal markings are mere references for keeping the speakers in ...

Re: Yellowing my fogs

Let me clear one thing up for myself, ive always been confused on this. Whats the difference between hid's and halogens, nobody has been able to tell me. All i know is one is extremely bright and is blue.

Halogen generally references a filament lamp (good old Edison) that uses a halogen gas blend ...

Re: Just ordered some HIDs!

A lot of the "perception" of the HID's being better is the color. You see the color on the road and think they're "better" because it "seems" like they are going further out. In reality, it's not.
BINGO!
There are 2 main reasons for this; being pitched towards blue in the color spectrum means that ...

Re: Product Suggestions for Lighting Resto & Upgrade

When I referred to retrofitting I meant the PNP stuffing of HID bulbs into the OEM housings

The HID fog contradiction is due to the color temperature. I do realize that 99% of fogs are cosmetic only. I actually prefer functional fogs; I have been driving in morning fog daily for the past couple of ...

Re: Product Suggestions for Lighting Resto & Upgrade

I've never used the headlight kits, have used rubbing & polishing compounds along with wet-sandpaper in the 1500-3000 grit range. The Mini-Powerballs are supposed to work great.

Wiring harnesses. Available many places online, I've made my own in the past. Oldsmobile used some really nice Bosch ...

You're welcome

I replaced mine a month ago after it was blinking like once every 5 seconds or so, but not before getting pulled over (and sobriety checked due to the time) because officer didn't see it blink...

Pull the cover down below the dash on the driver side. Directionals is outboard from the steering column, and the hazards are inboard. They are both metallic can flashers, easy to spot with a flashlight

I believe that would be Dexron IIE, and IIRC Dex III didn't come around until the mid 90s. It is reverse compatible though.

Hell No! The eBrake runs on the rear drums only, and has very little stopping power.

Re: May be time to part company

There was enough line coming from the sending unit to work with, and a co-volunteer at the fire department had some slick ass flaring tool that he was able to get in there with. I was able to source some 3/8" Injection rated hose (150psi working / 500 psi max) and purchased 3 feet. I needed less ...

Nope. Four different engine on FWD Bonnies measured 231. It is often more than wiring and simple parts, but many S-II parts fit into S-III blocks.

Re: May be time to part company

Are you referring to the flexible high pressure line from the fuel filter to the fuel tank sending unit? If so, that line is replaceable and ofter available at a local dealer. If the high pressure outlet end on the fuel sending unit is indeed crumbled/corroded then you need to replace the sending ...

Re: May be time to part company

Assessed the situation finally last night and this morning... It neither sliced the fuel line nor went completely through the floor. Subframe seemed to be solid enough.

What caused the fuel spill was a tug on the main line and it is actually occurring at the rotting-out hard line from the tank, and ...

May be time to part company

It started with a simple flat tire... Broke out the scissors jack, started cranking her up. Settling and creaking started as the tire lost contact with the ground. Then crunches as the car dropped back down onto the tire. Right through the quasi-frame rail. Sniff sniff, whats that smell.... *dang ...

My SSEI and GP both did.
If you do just tap those.
While they weren't halogens, most of my cars have had some 194s mounted somewhere under the dash
