Interesting. I thought this would be a common thing, though maybe not as much as on the 92-99's due to age and increased need for a new fuel pump.
Intense has instructions on modifying the pump for a W-body, but that obviously didn't apply. Plus I think that was the 340 Walbro anyway. No ...

Walbro 255 install
Hello old friends. Has anyone installed this Walbro specifically in their 2000+? I've searched too long and figure it's time to make a post.
I'm changing it Friday and was curious if there is anything I should be especially concerned about. The procedure seems pretty straight forward but I noticed ...

Re: Ownership duration?
I bought mine 3 years and 9 months ago with 108,000. 73,000 miles later I'm at 181,000 - looking and running even better.

Re: Fuel lock not working...and now some other things!
So I go to get my car tested for emissions, and realize it won't test since the OBD plug was not working. I spend 2 minutes and find an ALDL fuse. Why I didn't see this before, I don't know.
I replaced the ALDL fuse, car passes emissions.
The ALDL fuse also fixed the homelink and the trunk lock ...

Re: Fuel lock not working...and now some other things!
It's definitely not my battery. In trying to remove the relay for the fuel door lock I probably blew some fuses or relays somehow when I inadvertently touched some metal and saw a couple tiny sparks. That's my guess.

Fuel lock not working...and now some other things!
So I put a new fuel door on since mine didn't come with a locking tab. Come to find out my lock isn't actually working so the fuel door is useless for now.
I located the relay and figured I'd see if it was ok, it looked ok but I don't have any clue how or have the ability to test it.

I cleared mine by cutting. I didn't know of any other way...especially for the center piece.

Thanks for the compliments! As today is even nicer out I will probably be taking out the tripod for some "part 2" pictures later.

My lame almost Spring photoshoot
It was gorgeous out today so I finally cleaned the car for a shoot. Took a lot of shots but these were the only semi-post-worthy.

Even with low miles a 15-year-old car is not worth $5000 IMO.

They aren't bad WINTER rims. You could always pick up a set of 5 spokes or swoops.

Re: What should I offer?
$11,800 honestly doesn't sound too bad to ME. It couldn't hurt offering $1000 or so less though. With only 40,000 that's practically a brand new car in my eyes. I highly doubt they'll get rid of that for $9000. But I'm not a seasoned negotiator either.

Yep, I didn't know you had a K&N drop-in. That's why there's no whine (beating a dead horse). No matter what size pulley you have, an FWI or CAI would create a lot of whine. I'm running my frisbee still.

I think it'll be hard to drive with square wheels.gonzo4191 wrote:what do u all think
I think tint will look great on the color. I'm probably going to do 50% on mine, I don't want it too dark.
I'm not a fan of black wheels but to each his own!

Looks nice!
Where's the whine!?
Just kidding.
I bet you love that new trans. Since I've had mine rebuilt with the shift kit the car feels incredible and quicker than it has ever been.

Re: Insurance
Well, I have to have both per CT law...especially since it's financed. But I'd have both anyway since it's a newer car. It has worked out well since that tree limb fell on it.

Re: transmission fluid drain?
I suppose that is possible, though if it happened to someone they would have the worst luck ever, as the odds are slim that they hit it. The bottom of the trans pan is higher that the subframe, which makes me feel better. However, though draining it through a plug is easy, sucking it out of ...
