slow turn signals
I have not been on here in a while. That meant that the wife's car was operating correctly. She came home tonight and said here turn signals would not work. the signals will light up, inside and outside. After trying them a few times, they stated flashing, but very slow. I am guessing that the ...

Re: RADIATOR?
another question, where would the low coolant sensor be located if my car is equipped. I have looked, and cannot find any sensors attached to radiator. Also is there a certain tool required to remove trans lines?

RADIATOR?
I have determined that my radiator is leaking. It appears that it is leaking where the plastic tank adjoins the aluminum core. Is it better to replace with new, or can it be repaired to like new conditions. I have heard that it is hard to reseal a tank to where it would last.

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor
thanks for the input. I miss read the socket size. Could have swore it said 1-5/16. glad I did not buy a socket before I checked the bolt. The bolts I used were 1/4-28x3" and were more than long enough. I was hoping that my impact would be strong enough to break bolt loose, but ended up having to ...

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor
Does anyone know the size socket it takes to remove the bolt? 1-5/16"? Also are the holes use by a puller 1/4-28?

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor
Oh my, just watched video. It is almost as comical listening to the commentary as it was informational. Look to be as straight forward as I thought it would be. Looks like my puller in video, just might have to pick up a socket. don't think my impact set goes that high.

Crankshaft Position Sensor
So it has been determined that my crankshaft sensor has gone bad. I have done a search on here about replacing, but have only found remarks about a video. I have not been able to find any links to such video nor has a google search turned up video for a 2001 bonnie or 3800 series II engine. Does ...

Re: EXTREME HIGH IDLE
Ended up changing the Idle Air Control valve first, just to rule that out. I was surprised when I started it and the idle returned to normal. I have never experienced or heard of high idle with a bad IAC valve. I did hear some where that it would not throw a code sometimes. Even a high end Snap-On ...

Re: EXTREME HIGH IDLE
Well, I have tried several different things to no avail, so I will change the gaskets again. The only thing that I can think of that is causing this problem.

Re: EXTREME HIGH IDLE
All sensors tested ok. I bought a new one, put it on and there was no change, so took it off and put old one back on.

EXTREME HIGH IDLE
hello all, my car, a 2001, natural aspirated. My problem. It all started a while back with a code that said the egr valve bad. I forgot the exact code, but bought a used one from Harofreak. Code would never go away and always came back when cleared, but car started and drove good, so I never done ...

I am not certain, but I do believe the removal of the dash is involved. Quite sure someone with more knowledge will chime in shortly.

This also happens in my 2000. Sometimes just driving down road and ding, ding, ding, then security light is on. Never seen a problem associated with it.

Re: P0404 EGR Valve
If I take the egr valve off and spray PB Blaster or some sort of solvent into the bottom and let it sit, will it ruin any other part of it?

P0404 EGR Valve
Hello all, I am getting a p0404 code.this pertains to the egr valve. My question is, is this common for the valves to go bad? Do you think I could just clean it? These are fairly expensive to replace. Any input is appreciated.

Re: I STILL HAVE TRANNY PROBLEMS
i called my transmission guy today. told him what it is doing and what i thought might be the problem. he told me that he had put in a new piston and sleeve since i was having this problem to begin with. he told me that it also sounds like the piston is not sealing properly again. i am going to take ...

actually this guy is probably one of the best in my area. he works at the dealership, and does nothing but their transmission work. also he only works on GM tranny's.
