RADIATOR?

Post by bslayer »

I have determined that my radiator is leaking. It appears that it is leaking where the plastic tank adjoins the aluminum core. Is it better to replace with new, or can it be repaired to like new conditions. I have heard that it is hard to reseal a tank to where it would last.

another question, where would the low coolant sensor be located if my car is equipped. I have looked, and cannot find any sensors attached to radiator. Also is there a certain tool required to remove trans lines?

There is no coolant level sensor with the 3800, only the GXP (Northstar) got that.

For the trans lines, first pry/pull off the plastic covers and slide them out of the way. Then use a sharp object like a pick to remove the retaining clip. Then the line will pull straight out. If there is any corrosion it is going to pull out hard, you'll have to wiggle and twist.
