Re: Low Coolant sensor location

No low coolant sensor on any 2000-2005 Bonneville...except the GXP with the 4.6 (sensor is in the overflow reservoir)

Some of the aftermarket radiators will have a hole for a sensor so make sure it comes with a plug for that hole.

Thanks for the response Haro....that explains why I didn't see ...

Low Coolant sensor location

Hey All,

2001 SSei. Need a new radiator. There are 2 options 1 has low coolant attachment/sensor the other does not have the attachment/sensor.

Is that an option on the SSei or is that standard equipment on the SSei? Where can is the low coolant sensor located...so that I can verify if I have it ...

AC PAG Oil?

Does anyone know which # PAG oil my 01 SSei 'likes'? Some parts stores list PAG 46 and others list PAG 150. Then again some say that either will work. I don't trust most of the parts houses today to give me reliable info. You know it's questionable when you have to explain to them what PAG oil is in ...

Re: Orifice tube--Color

Never seen a line failure, ever. I wouldn't worry about the evaporator because of the hassle involved. I would replace the condenser if you even have the slightest concern because it is pretty easy to replace.
Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking the rubber in the lines might deuterate over ...

Re: Orifice tube--Color

The original GM (1530973) is white/tan, but the cheap white ones work just the same.

Here's a question for you if you have time. I'm guessing you have experience in the area.

Orifice tube--Color

Hey All,

I'm preordering some A/C parts for my 2001 SSei. The old compressor is 'knocking' but the system still puts out cool air but I want to replace the compressor before it 'blows' to hopefully prevent any metal shavings getting into the system.

So, I'm gathering parts (Compressor, Orifice ...

Re: On Star ??

Your 01 is analog and the system does not operate even if you wanted it. I think you're safe.

Thanks Haro....

So did they change to a digital system on OnStar and by doing so basically cancelled my onboard satellite ability? If so I wonder how many older cars they disabled....

In my case it's ...

On Star ??

Hey All,

01 SSei car. Does anyone know if On Star still reports data even though you don't subscribe to the service any longer? I just read an article that On Star has been selling data to insurance companies who are using it to increase insurance rates. Yikes!

Remove cover over supercharger

Hey All,

O1 SSei. Need to replace the MAF sensor. When removing the cover over the engine how do you remove the oil neck so you can lift off the cover? I tried pulling up and tried twisting. Is there a 'catch' or something that I need to release to get that neck out?

Thankx

Thanks "J".... I thought that would be the case...just wanted a sanity check...I wanted to make sure that, since it's on the rear, that there's not some kind of weird flip-a-roo reverse the 'stew' physics effect going on... #-o

Buried post question

Hey All,

Several days ago I posed a question in another thread but since it was an older thread I suspect few if any saw it so I thought I'd post the question in a new post.

If the left rear wheel 'drags' more than the right rear (Right rear gets 3 revolutions on a hand spin and the left rear gets ...

Re: Pulling to the right

UPDATE:

Ok....pulled the right front wheel. Pads evenly worn....pins like new. Regreased and buttoned it up. Still pulling.

Jacked up the back and gave the rear wheels the old spin test. I get a good 3 revolutions out of the right rear tire. On the left I only get 1.5 revolutions.

So....sanity ...

Re: Pulling to the right

Did the pull start happening right after the alignment? or shortly after? Possible they did the alignment incorrectly or left something loose? I'd take it back and see if they can give you an idea.

Did you happen to check your front struts/coil springs for failure or a snapped spring? It doesn't ...

Nope...not so much as a peep....The front end was aligned less that 1K ago so I'd think a bad cradle bushing would have made itself known then?

Re: Pulling to the right

I wouldn't jump on all new calipers unless they're seeping or leaking. A lot of times the caliper guide pins are what seize up. I've never had them so bad that they made the car pull but it's possible.

Well I replaced the pins on all 4 corners when I did my brakes last (2-3K ago). Used AC Delco P ...

Re: Pulling to the right

Drag meaning the wheels are hard to spin due to a seized caliper or wheel bearing issue. You would have to be in neutral for the fonts.

Ahhh....well DUH on me...Haha... I should have realized that...

I thought about relacing the calipers the last time I did the brakes but at the time I replaced ...

Pulling to the right

Hey all.

Looking at an 01 SSei.

So I'm 'truckin' out on the interstate at about 75 MPH and I notice that I'm pulling to the right. I ease over into the left lane which is slanted to the left and the car tracks back over into the right lane in about 5 seconds.

I kept driving and correcting the ...
