Re: New guy with some questions.
If that car runs as nice as it looks it would have been in my garage already even at $4,000.

Lot easier and a lot cheaper to just buy this one.

Re: Do they still make headers for our cars?
3800 Performance still sells TOG's. He basically owns TOG and still makes them. He even improved on the design some. I bought a set from him years ago and they still look new, man those headers had the best ceramic coating.

Re: Transmission swap issue
I would check that harness closely and clean all three connections. Beats the crap out of dropping the cradle and changing solenoids.MattStrike wrote:Sounds just like what our van did when the trans harness wasn't connected to the trans. It was pushed on, but not all the way.

Re: Transmission swap issue
Will it go into 4th? If not its is the 1-2/3-4 solenoid. Bad AFL valve will cause this too, but they usually will work when warmed up but not always. Those are the most common problems I know. GL

Re: WCBF13 - Oregon July 24-28
Might have to work on the drag racing as there is a three day event going on at Woodburn that weekend. All bracket racing and maybe we could get in on that, maybe. Better give em a call Paul. I would be in with the WS6, I might haul the regal over for good track prep to go for a good time. Just for ...

Re: Header wrap
I use header wrap on the Buick but that stuff is nasty, and I mean really nasty. Next time the pipes come out(soon) that crap is going away and getting all pipes coated. Get eye protection and a respirator if you put it on. Yes get it wet first that helps.
Buy a decent set of coated headers and if ...

Andrew, did you ever consider keeping the 4T80e in there and just building on that?

:bstooges:
Why the hell not? Its no more custom tuning than a built L67. Not much custom work to make it fit and you can get a used kit on clubgp for stupid cheap nowadays. Saw a nice one for 1600 yesterday. Just keep it in the 400 - 450 hp range and you will be ...

Re: Engine Rebuild
I've used wax-coated flat twine, the same stuff that's used in aviation for electrical cable bundling (like inside of radios or transponders). Holds the packs together nicely when dropping them in, and a few snips and out it comes. What little remains (if any) harmlessly gets chewed up.

Re: Engine Rebuild
Transmission is taken apart now and just about rebuilt. Should be together tonight. We do all the transmission stuff ourselves except the final putting together. We have a tranny guy who does that for us. It cost more than the engine to rebuild for sure. Third gear clutch pack was smoked completely ...

Engine Rebuild
I toasted every bearing in my engine last year so I am getting ready for racing this year and thought I would share. Everybody always says oh just go buy a new used shortblock and be done with it. I decided to rebuild instead. No spun bearing or any ring/piston damage. Something else went south and ...

You can throw my 2000 WS6 into that mix. The Regal is not going to make it this year.
