Re: Deep Water!
Got it towed home, had a chance to tear into it just now. I took the front coil pack off and removed the plugs then cranked it - shot water a solid 10 feet out the front bank :/ It will now start, but it runs/sounds awful, like it's going to throw a rod any minute. I probably should have taken the ...

Deep Water!
I have a 2004 GXP that just unfortunately took a little swim in a low spot of a local street (midwest floods at the moment). I got through the high water, but the car immediately sputtered and died - I managed to coast it into a parking lot and it will not start, after letting it sit for about 30 ...

Re: GXP 3800 Swap
Thanks for the link, that should probably answer a lot of questions as I go through it. Any chance to get the pictures on that thread restored? Or re-uploaded to a better image hosting site?

GXP 3800 Swap
I currently own 2 Bonnevilles: a 05 SE parts car and a 00 SSEI driver. I really like the 00, but it spent 12 years in the dregs of Michigan being abused by snow and salt... and as a result the body is rusting through something awful. Fuel lines, brake lines, mounts, fenderwells, and rocker panels ...

Re: 2005 SE steering knuckle removal
Ah, thank you for the clarifications! I'll probably try and obtain the tool to separate the lower ball joint.

2005 SE steering knuckle removal
Trying to pull suspension parts off a spare car (to fix a 00 ssei) and having a heck of a time getting the driver's side steering knuckle off. Is there a way to just remove the knuckle without the hub frame assembly coming with it? I'm worried about destroying that swiveling joint on the bottom ...

Re: 00 SSEI to 05 SE engine and transmission swap
That's pretty much the plan right now. Looked over your link - how long would you estimate it took you for everything?

00 SSEI to 05 SE engine and transmission swap
My 00 SSEI was recently involved in a highway pileup (hooray for morons) and is pretty much totaled. I also have a 05 SE that had a tranny go out a while back... so I'm looking for swap advice. The good engine and tranny only have about 25k on them, and I'd like to avoid going car shopping again for ...

Re: 00 SSEI - AC button does not work while car is running
That's what I suspected, and is the likely culprit. I've only had the car a couple months and had to recharge it when I picked it up (with a can of R134a), but the levels still werent optimal. It was blowing cool, but not cold - just enough to keep me happy. I'll try and check the levels tomorrow ...

00 SSEI - AC button does not work while car is running
Just saw some odd behavior earlier today... while driving, my AC turned itself off and would not turn back on. The "AC" button would not toggle, the display would only show "AC Off". After I stopped and turned the car off, I found that with the key in the ON position, the AC would toggle between off ...

Re: Looking for Headers
I was looking as well for my 2000 ssei after noticing the note on the INTENSE page about the discontinued ceramics they used to offer in the kit... so these fit the Bonneville even though it isn't listed on the speed daddy site?
