I currently own 2 Bonnevilles: a 05 SE parts car and a 00 SSEI driver. I really like the 00, but it spent 12 years in the dregs of Michigan being abused by snow and salt... and as a result the body is rusting through something awful. Fuel lines, brake lines, mounts, fenderwells, and rocker panels are currently or will soon be crumbling to dust. However, the engine+tranny are pretty young, only about 24k on both of them (GM crate replacements), and I really enjoy the engine. I have been entertaining the idea of buying a 04 GXP with 140k on it (looking at it this weekend hopefully), and was wondering if anyone here had personally done a ssei engine/tranny swap into a GXP? It would be the most desirable combination of body/engine in my opinion - are there any helpful guides/links I could take a look at? How much of the electrical needs to be swapped over? Is it something that an amateur-ish mechanic could attempt, having full access to the parts of both cars?
I would appreciate any assistance or recommendations you can give!

Harofreak00 is the only one who has done the N* swap out for the 3800 in his GXP.

Re: GXP 3800 Swap
Here is my build: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 28945.html
As long as you have the complete SSEi parts car, you should be good. You'll need to swap literally everything from the donor cars engine bay. I did have to do some changes to the wiring to get the EBCM and cruise control to work, but pretty simple stuff. My build was overly complicated because at the time I was adding all the intercooler plumbing and aftermarket stuff. If you have any specific questions I can answer them.

Thanks for the link, that should probably answer a lot of questions as I go through it. Any chance to get the pictures on that thread restored? Or re-uploaded to a better image hosting site?
