Re: 2000 SSEi - oil pressure gone crazy

Thanks for the info.
Should I not drive it at all until I get the sensor replaced? I am trying to decide if I should just rent a car for the weekend until I can get to the sensor.

2000 SSEi - oil pressure gone crazy

My 2000 SSEi Bonne (163K) started to show red zone oil pressure today when I am at low speeds or idle at a stop. When I press the gas it comes back up to normal.

I did replace the oil pressure sensor on the back of the engine near the Power Steering pump a few years back, could it have gone out ...

'00 SSEi - Wiper Arm removal

I have a leaking connection in my washer fluid line, it is underneath the panel that sits below the wiper arms, I believe the word is 'cowel'.
I can lift the panel and feel where the leak is taking place. But to truly access it and change the lines I need to remove the cowel.

This is the problem ...

'00 SSEi - Replacing coils

It looks like I will be replacing my ignition coils in my '00 SSEi.
I can do a few things o n this car mechanically but am by no means a mechanic. Is there anything I need to know concerning replacing these coils.

To reference the issues: Hard shudder in the car upon 1/3 to 1/2 of throttle. MAF ...

Replacing a TPS - '00 SSEi

OK the car took another crap on me today. Pulled codes, it says that the refurbished MAF I recently purchased needs replaced already. Ive heard reports that the rebuilts will NEVER work in a Bonnie SuperCharged

But I also have a code of the TPS being bad. Any hints, pics? Costs? I looked in the ...

Re: BOOST PSI gauge

Wow you guys are impressive. BCA looks fine, moving to the BCS is a different story the hard plastic hose coming off of the left side and running across the front of the engine is broken at the BCS connection as well as the opposite end of the line where is enters the engine again.
In all honesty I ...

BOOST PSI gauge

I recently got a Service Engine Soon light and had to clean my MAF sensor. The car runs strong once again, however the Boost PSI gauge sits just left of center (0) at idle.

I thought it used to go all the weay down to -10 at idle.
I does still rise up to right of center (0) as I accelerate ...

Re: 00'SSEi - MAF Sensor

You people were right and thanks for the info, it was as simple as could be.
I will say its running better, as it was stalling in the middle of the road, running to 40 before up shifting really hard etc. Now it is strong and fast again.
Should the sensor wires have looked dirty at all? They looked ...

'00 SSEi CV Axle

Hello all. Im having a recurring issue in my right axle.
In Feb I had it replaced. Then returned last month as it was leaking Tranny fluid out of the joint where the axle inserts into the differential. They have gone through 2 seals thinking that is the issue (its not).
We are not able to find any ...

Re: 2000 SSEi - Replacing valve cover gaskets

I believe it would be the bracket I cant get under, not the actual alternator.
But it sounds like I need to remove the alternator first.

Any steps on that process?

I see the hoses going into the bracket. Not sure where to start with the alternator removal though. Sorry. If you could send a ...

Re: 2000 SSEi - Replacing valve cover gaskets

OK I am deep into this project, front is done. Into the back Valve cover gasket. I got every thing off and now I cannot figure out the alternator?

Any quick instructions on removing / replacing it. or how much to remove to get the valve cover off?

I will be replacing my front rotors this week.

I do not have a shop manual so wondering if anyone can provide any helpful insight, also torque specs etc.. would probably be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2000 SSEi - Replacing valve cover gaskets

Thanks for the info. The directions for the 95 Series II are pretty explicit down to having a beer afterwards. Ill go check everything out before I get into it.

I had a shop do the LIM last summer. But think Ill venture into this one on my own.

2000 SSEi - Replacing valve cover gaskets

Hello all, its time to replace my valve cover gaskets on my '00 SSEi

I saw a link here for a '95 Series II. A lot of the components and layout looked similar but I thought it best to ask if there are any specific directions for my car?

Any input is appreciated.
