'00 SSEi - Wiper Arm removal

Post by David CO »

I have a leaking connection in my washer fluid line, it is underneath the panel that sits below the wiper arms, I believe the word is 'cowel'.
I can lift the panel and feel where the leak is taking place. But to truly access it and change the lines I need to remove the cowel.

This is the problem. On the wiper arms I remove the caps and the nuts that hold the arms in place. I cannot lift the wiper arms off of the post / bolt. I am afraid to apply too luch leverage or strength to it in case Ive missed a connection. I have looked for clips of other connectors that would hold them on, but nothing.

Does any one have any advise or experience on this removal? I have researched the other arm removal posts and my assembly is different.

Thanks in advance.

it's on a splined shaft. Mark the location of the arm on the splines, so it's properly located. Maybe a small 3 jaw puller?

If rocking the arm back and forth doesn't do it, you can use a battery terminal puller.
