When I bought my 01 SE a few weeks ago, I planned on changing the UIM an LIM Gasket within the first month of purchase even if it wasnt broke. Ill just call it preventative maintenance. Well, last week I took a look at the date stamps on the UIM and the UIM had appears to have been made in 2006. Which means its already been replaced. What I was wondering was is there anyway that I can tell if the LIM gasket was replaced without taking it all apart for nothing? Thanks in advance!

If you look between the LIM and the head, is it a black gasket or a silvery/aluminum looking one? That will tell you if the LIM gaskets were replaced with the better aluminum ones.

One thing I noticed was that my car was purchased by the previous owner in 2006. The upper intake manifold has a date stamp of 5-2006. I wonder if the manifold failed before or after the the second owner.
