Does anybody else here experience, while going through a car wash, during the drying cycle when the dryer passes overhead, the roof makes a loud "thumping" or "banging" noise? Is this normal on our cars?

Happens on the 95 too.

Normal.

Annoying.

:laughing3: If you have even seen what the roof of a Bonne does when you pump it with a powerful sub..   ......you'll know where the thumping comes from. Extreme flexing of the roof panel and knocking within the sunroof mechanism. It'll bounce a penny a few inch into the air.

yup my Buick does it too! I was hoping dropping the headliner and adding some sound matting might help to stiffen the thin sheet metal just enough to stop it from doing that, maybe some one will beat me to it?

Yeah the dryers dont need to blow as hard as they do, its just the sheetmetal getting pushed down by the pressure and popping back up. Mine does it, as Andrew said....annoying :ack:
