Hi All,

Good to be back here after 3 years! 2 years ago I moved to Rome (Italy) and shipped my 1965 Bonneville too!

I have not been able to use the Bonnie for the last 2 years due to the Italian bureaucracy. It took 5 months for me to get the Italian customs duty paid and now I have to join a vintage/classic car club and get a certificate detailing the original specifications of the car. Then I will have to take the car for inspection on a trailer (since it now has no licence plates and no insurance). Language barrier has made things worse!

To cut the sad sorry short, the car has now acquired a few dozens of surface rust spots all over :???: . I do not know if there is anything I could use that removes the spots without taking the paint off!

Please help!

Ciao!

Yikes! I imagine you can't get around it without sanding.

Or maybe some sort of acid cleaner if they aren't too serious, of course your paint won't like that very much...

Depends on what you mean by surface rust. Is it rust stains on the paint or is the paint gone and the rust on the metal?

if it is on the paint, you can try a clay bar, or a chemical cleaner like Iron X.
