HELLLLP. 2001 boneville ssei cranks over but does not fire up ,, new fuel pump-old one was bad. car was sitting for over a year . after new fuel pump cranked up ran , drove around etc. shut it down next morn spins over but fuel pump not actuated. was told by pont mech anti-theft sys bad. "bring it in we can fix it " LOL only 1200 bucks . how do you disable the anti theft sys . the car is 14 years old i just want it to run.

When you turn the key on and leave it on, what does the security light on the dash do?

Pull a plug wire off at the coil and have someone crank the engine over, you should see and hear spark jump from the top of the tower to the base. Also check to see if there is power getting to the fuel pump, just because it was replaced does not guarantee it is good.

If the problem was the anti-theft system, it wouldn't crank.
