Is there a way to add a usb plug-in to a stock stereo?

Unlikely, as the stock stereo would need a way to decode the digital signal coming from the USB cable, and it does not have this capability.
If you're trying to hook up an MP3 player, there are ways to do this without USB.

Cheapest and easiest method to hook up an MP3 player to your stock deck would be the use of an FM modulator. This is what I used for a good long time till I finally got myself a new deck that has a USB port.

That sucks, I have an aftermarket stereo but wanted to keep the stock one for the functionality of the steering wheel buttons and the gain.

So wait, you want to be able to control your Mp3 player with the stock deck, or do you just want to charge it with USB? There's absolutely no way to control it with your stock deck, but if you want to just charge it through USB, I think there is a way... I can't get onto Crutchfield from work, though, so I can't check it out...

Seems like a whole hell of a lot of money to spend for just USB input. What exactly are you trying to connect to your stereo?

and it's a drop in the bucket compared to the $50,000 planned to spend on the house, and the $30, 000 on the malibu and the 10,000 I was going to spend on a bonneville..

you can buy an adapter from crutchfield for the steering wheel controls if you want to use and aftermarket H/U depending on which one it is.
