So I have a 2000 pontiac bonneville se. I've gone through 3 fuel pumps in 3 month's. Any idea why that might be? Also what is the best fuel filter to have on my car. When I put in the new pump next Monday "If it's here on time" I want to put a few fuel filter in since the last pump left be with little metal shavings in the tank.
Does anyone have a writeup for making a fuel pressure tester or a link to buy a cheap one?
As for the crap in the bottom of the tank do you think I should just drop the tank and hose everything out or try to suck out and wipe up everything I can reach?
One last thing- my oil pressure gauge ALWAYS reads 120 so I know that typically means it's a bad oil pressure sensor. What brand should I get and if you have a link please post it.
Thanks. My name is Steven.
What is happening when you decide the fuel pump is bad?

Dont use a vacuum on your gas tank. It causes static and that could be bad for fuel fumes. Also I wouldnt use water in my gas tank either. If you must clean it they either make chemicals to do that or just wipe up as much as you can. As for the Oil sensor I just used what ever the local autoparts store had. Worked for over 5 years for me.

I know about a vacuum. Lol I ment a vacuum pump to pump out the fuel my. And if I did put water in it to clean it is would drop the tank and clean it out and let it sit with a fan to dry out. And what fuel filter do you suggest?
