I have some 'splainin to do...

So, as some of you know I recently got a new job, assistant parts manager at a Chevy dealer. I'm loving the job and it's treating me well so far. I also had another 96 SSEi fall in my lap from Ryan, it needed some loving (still does) but it's come a long way, absolutely rust free, anything else I can fix, and this one is worth saving since there's no rust to speak of. 167k, freshly rebuilt trans (160k), had to replace a wheel bearing, blower snout, tensioner, belts, and some other odds and ends, this car has had a checkered past, some of the pictures will explain that, the car still has the OEM CCR shocks/struts, and they are BAD! So that will get done, and the PS pump is failing, unless I'm on the throttle it doesn't pressurize, it still needs the other hub bearing, plugs/wires, blend door actuator/ECC controller, a torque axis mount, a retrofit, and fresh tint. This tint is/was 20%, but parked next to my old red SSEi with brand new 20% you can tell how faded this is. These pictures are approximately in chronological order, starting with Ryan's ownership.
When it was untouched:
Why the shocks, and maybe PS pump, went bad.
After some time.
When Ryan, Carl and I did the LIM gaskets last year.
How I got it:
Ewwwwwww
Dat hood prop
Had to rebuild the HUD
Puppy made a tent
Hover Bonneville!
Better.
Not my cat, no comment!
I made a tent.
Rockin the Johnny Cash
After some elbow grease, and a lot of heavy cleaners.
As she sits.
Not a bad deal considering I got the friends price, and I get a good parts discount. Aside from this little bombshell, I've just been working like crazy, really enjoying the job though.
Also, this car has almost had as many sets of wheels on it as Cody's old Maxima.

Now they work!
Nice progress. Gotta get that hood sorted out.

Hood, bumpers, LeSabre mirrors, and wiper spoilers all need paint. Might do the gold parts of the wheels too if I keep them, depends if I can sneak some fancy brakes behind em.
Edit: Yes, I have an in tact set of wiper spoilers. :D

Looks great! I would keep the crosslace wheels. They always look good.

Actually, Stewie had the most wheel change, six wheel changes. The maxima only had three (if you include the stock ones)

I'm still determined to get those wiper spoilers. Or you should just really give them to me, after all, they do match my LeSabre's paint.
I still find it hilarious that I was waiting for the GXP, and I'm out in Matt's driveway and saw the car and thought, "If Ryan's here, where's Will?" Then you pop of of the darkness behind me. You're getting very good at this sneaky thing, Will.

I'm actually taking the GXP to Woodward. So don't worry there..
Thanks Simon, but it's all going to depend on if I can make the brake setup I want work, Brembos > Crosslaces. Even four pots probably won't fit under a 16" wheel. :/

When the bumpers, mirrors, and wiper spoilers get done. Then it'll look pimpin on those ghetto golds.
That's Axle. He's a German Shepherd Beagle mix. Adorable, smart and dumb at the same time, but a great dog.

Sounds like our dog. A lovable chit, but sometimes I wonder what electrical impulses are flowing between those ears.
Today for instance, he decided to roll in raccoon crap. Seriously! WTH makes you go... "Oh hey, I wanna roll in this..."

Yeah, Axle does a lot of ridiculous things, most of the time it just makes me laugh because it's funny, he's usually pretty well behaved. He likes to exploit his adorableness sometimes though
Like every time I bring the GXP home, he'll run up to it with a look on his face that says "let's go for a ride" even though I've had the car longer than he's been alive, and he's never been inside it.
