Post by Chunguie »

Hey guys! I'm a new member here from Kansas. I currently have a Black 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSE which I bought about 6 months ago as my first car buy with my own money (I got it for a steal!). My interest in these cars started with my girlfriend, who at this point has owned 3! (Her first one was a 94' Green SE, then 97' Anniversary Purple SE, and now she has a white 99' SE!). I decided to try and buy one for myself because all of her cars were pretty reliable and very fun to drive and ride in, and so when the opportunity came and I found one at a price I couldn't pass up I got it! I'm very happy with it although I have run into a few problems with it here or there. This site has been a huge resource for me, and id like to say im so pumped that all you guys are here to help and that this site exists. I did a bit of work on it yesterday, and decided to join the site today! So cheers to everybody and hello!

As a side note, some of the things im working on currently, in case anyone would like to shoot some advice or tips-

-I swapped out the upper intake for the dorman part
-Im currently in the midst of replacing the belt tensioner along with the heater hose fittings because the fitting was leaking and i accidentally broke the tensioner trying to take the elbow off.
-Im also replacing all of my spark plugs with Autolite XP iridium plugs, along with the spark plug wires (havent bought those yet)
-replacing my brake pads
-Trying to find out what size vacuum lines (Im assuming thats what they were), I need to replace these brittle little hoses that I noticed were worn down in the front by the fuel rail.

Here is a pic of my car and my girl's car! Image
