I have to change my rear wheel bearings to pass inspection. I can't get the caliper bracket bolt loose. I have tried a breaker bar. Banged it with a mini sledge hammer and nothing but an almost stripped bolt and a busted 15mm socket. I know if I strip it. The whole control arm is going to have to come out. I have soaked it in PB Blaster although I don't think it will do any good since the bolt threads are not exposed. Any suggestions or should I keep banging on it until I bust all of my knuckles? Has anyone else had this issue?Seized Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt

2000 Olds Intrigue 160k "MOFO" - It got its name in my backyard it's the only name it answers to. Worst POS ever created by GM. I will fix it though. Overheats randomly. Great for slow roasting turkeys.

Biggest thing I would say is make sure you are using a 6 point socket and not a 12 point.

Thanks! I got it off eventually. I always tend to forget that paitence is key when using PB Blaster. It works wonders. Stumbled into a brake job too. I refuse to put back on crappy stuff. So it'l be up in the air for two days.

Nope I need an impact. I kinda enjoy the upper body work out though.

I understand, but the multiple fast shocks will break it loose before shear force.
Got any heat to put on it? I use a plumbing torch. You can pick those up fairly cheap at Lowes/Home depot maybe even Walmart...?

He got it out but still some good advice for anyone with a stubborn bolt here.
