Left rear parking brake inop

Post by tracerprix »

I noticed that my left rear parking brake doesn't hold the wheel. It seems to move ok when you push the pedal. I did not compare it to the right side which works perfect. What do I need to look for to figure out why this doesn't hold the wheel. I took the caliper off and it seemed to be adjusted right. Thanks!

Odds are that the cable on that side is binding and not moving as far as it should. You can try lubing it.

Thanks, I will try that, or replace that cable.

Replacing would be the better option. I haven't had much long term success with lubing them.

I wouldn't think lubing the cable would last very long.
