Took the Cutlass to the track Sunday

Post by crash93ssei »

I went to the track Sunday and met up with some other people from a local car forum. Most everyone was in the 12s except for me and one other guy running a stock Lincoln, who was in the 15s.

I was expecting to not be any quicker then a 14.7 in the Cutlass but to my surprise my first run I ripped off a 14.47 and followed that by two more 14.4x runs. I pulled my engine driven flex fan off for a few runs and hit a best of 14.33 with the other run 14.3x also.

Overall I was very happy with the day, but I can't wait to get my Trick Flow heads on it now. They will be on before the Michigan meet for sure

Here is the only vid of it so far, Chris has one too, but hasn't had time to upload it yet. Hopefully today!

Congrats on the times, the Cutlass is looking and obviously running great. What else do you have planned for it besides the Trick Flow heads.

I want it to be in the 12s by next summer, and hopefully I can get there with the heads and roller rockers I already have and a cam. A shift kit is also being planned as well as eventually a different rear axle.

My Trick Flow heads will support 500 hp as is without any modifications so I know they are up to the job

What was your 60 ft?

What pressures were your tires at?

What was your staging RPM?

60' was 2.0, tire pressure was 35 psi, staging RPM was around 2 or 3k RPM, can't remember for sure, but it was the highest I could go. When the light went green, I was WOT right away and only broke traction on two runs.

Next time I go to the track.... traction will be an issue
