I'm looking to buy this from Amazon- I have the stock radio/CD player that is in the SSEi. Will I need anything else, or should I be able to just plug this in and go?
Thanks. Again, this board is amazing; I've learned A LOT.

that is all you need. I have a similar product from a different manufacturer. this one is nicer than mine in that it has a nice remote on-off switch with input.

Great! I went ahead and placed the order. Reviews on Amazon seemed pretty good.

IDK about your particular car, but for my 2005 SE, I had to get 2 antenna adapters, one that connects to the back of the radio, and on that will connect to the antenna lead. They are not standard sizes on this one.

That is because the antenna connection is in a different place under the dashboard cover in 00+ There is a simple connection inside the dash somewhere.

If you end up not being happy with the fm modulator, here is another option if you're savvy with electronics.

I've read that, and I like the idea, but would this word for my CD player unit? Actually, to complicate matters, it won't read CD's correctly- an "E R R" message comes up; but I don't actually listen to CD's much so that isn't a problem itself, but I'm not sure if the "jumpers and pins" could be converted for the CD player.

Yep, the mod is pretty much the same for tape decks or CD players (i've done it to both), but you do need a working CD player unit for the mod to work, because the radio has to think it's playing a CD when it's actually playing your mp3's. If you still want to do the mod, you can usually pick up a tape deck on ebay for $15.

If your CD player still tries to spin CD's before the err message pops up, you might be able to fix it simply by wiping the laser eye with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. That trick fixed mine and my brother's s10 cd player.

Well, what a great day off work! I got to play some basketball, and when I got home I saw that my FM modulator had arrived from Amazon. They even included the male-to-male wire that connects the mp3 player to the input--I didn't expect that!
I got everything wired up. Power coming in off the dash mounted cig lighter and everything works like a charm. It's even set on a station where i do receive a fairly strong signal (88.3, never listen to it) but without any song playing, it is pure silence. With a song playing, it's very good sound, although I admit I'm no audiophile.
I really recommend this, folks. 27 dollars that were well-spent.
