What can i do to my 95 ssei to enhance performance without putting too much stress on my other stock parts. Is a SLR chip a good option.I have 130,000; but i baby it. I just bought this one 3 months ago and the only thing ive' done is fluids and a cool air intake. Anyone have any suggestions.

I have never heard of an SLR chip, but if it is one of those Ebay chips, stay far away from it.
There are some options for you, but it all depends on your budget. First, make sure everything is up to par. Make sure your ignition system is good, change fuel filter, check fuel pressure etc. You can get a fender well intake from
www.Intense-Racing.com that will be MUCH better then a home made cool air intake. Next on the list would probably be a scanner to monitor KR so you can add power. You can get a smaller supercharger pulley and rockers, but I would make sure to get a scanner first. No point on doing those mods unless you know your engine can take it without blowing itself up.

I'm not familiar with the SLR chip. Got a link?
www.sinisterperformance.com can do custom tunes for 95's.
A popular thing to do would be put on a smaller SC pulley for more boost. Either the stock pulley from a 92-93 SSEi or supercharged SSE, or a 2.5" from
www.pulleyboys.com. Before you do that, though, I'd check to make sure your fuel pressure is within spec (I think they are in Techinfo). You do not want to run lean under higher boost.

An Actron CP9145 is a capable scanner for the 94-95 Bonnies as it can scan for KR. Unfortunately, it isn't all that great for 96+ cars though. I bought mine at Amazon.com for $99 shipped. Performance parts are scarce for the Series 1 engines but I found that a 2.5 inch pulley from Pulleyboys did the job. Good increase in power and good quality item. I made sure my car was in full tune with new plugs, wires and a ton of maintenance parts. Don't forget to run premuim fuel too.

Most likely all that chip is, is a resistor in fancy packaging so the car thinks it is getting colder air and commands more timing.

And the effect quickly fades as the O2 sensor sees the mixture is off and the PCM compensates.

stay away from SLR (ebay chips) as mentioned above they are nothing more than a fancy resistor that makes your car think it is pulling in colder air. also mentioned above the intial affects are short lived as the O2 sensor learns the mix is off then compinsates. so save yourself the headache and look into the sinister performance link mentioned above as they can permanently "trick" your car.
if you purchase this chip your wasteing money. for 30 cents you can buy a resistor and then stick it into the intake temp. sensor pins and save yourself 5 plus dollars. and get the same disappointing results.
