It'd be sweet if we had a mobile (phone, pda) optimized portal. Doesn't have to be completely integrated into the PHPBB forum, but maybe a seperate entity that accesses the DB? Not sure how easy either way would be, just throwing it out there...

I agree. It takes forever to get through the portal on my iPod Touch.

It looked alright on my eV Touch. Pretty much like it normally looks. Maybe a little slow to load, though.

How many people browse the site using a PDA or iphone? I would need to look into the feasibility of a pda friendly interface.

I do, but i skip he portal because It's slow. It would be nice to have a mobile version though. maybe without signatures also.

When I say mobile optimized portal, I don't mean the portal at http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com, but just a different version of the forum optimized for mobile devices....

I sometimes log on with my Instinct, but I have the forums page as the main one, I never use the portal.

I am posting from a blackberry at this moment. In fact I was gonna make a thread like this. Good thing I found this one first lol. I haven't checked phpbb's plugin page for awhile. Maybe they have a mobile app?

I browse from my Nokia E71 a lot (ie right now). A mobile version of the forum wouldn't hurt for me :)

I actually plan on getting a smart phone for my next toy soon, it would actually be nice to get on here at work when I am bored :lol:

I'm waiting for the next forum software release to update Pontiac Bonneville Club. I can see about a mobile portal as part of that. No eta on when that will happen yet. Waiting for final version release first.

Yeah that'll be a lot more mobile friendly. I would try to keep the coloring down to a minimum, possible match to the forum.
