power steering
i checked my power steering level today and it was low so i filled it up.i took it for a drive and when i returned i smelt burn ps fluid. so i popped the hood and noticed it leaking i had a friend turn the wheel back and forth and noticed it coming out of the lid. the lid is on correctly but i have no clue what could cause this. i checked the line and they didnt have any kinks in them.? Anyone had this happen to them? i know the steering rack is going bad but could that caust the fluid to come out of the lid? TIA

The most common cause for that is overfilling the reservoir. Check the level using the dipstick attached to the cap.

Did you turn the wheel back and fourth at all with the engine not running? I have noticed doing that will also cause fluid to spill out the top sometimes.
Most likely though it was just overfilled.
