yup, any time Booze, and also look for foregin material (ie rust,) around the gas filler neck. clean that off if any is present

That's funny, it's gone now. And I didn't even do anything yet.

I can't really look at the cap itself right now cause it's kinda dark and I don't have a flash light but I can look at it once I get home just to be sure. This car only has very minor surface rust underneath, but the gas filler neck might be dirty, it tends to do that in there. Although I did look at the manual and all it had to say about the 'Check Gas Cap' light is that It would come on if the cap doesn't seal properly, unless there is another section about it.

X2, but I want to get some light silver paint to do the Cap and Pontiac, but other than that it looks great and I want to do it.

Not sure that it required primer, but it was Krylon Black Wrinkle Paint. I want to say I ordered it from Summit but it could probably be found at your local auto parts store.

I coated a few things with it. The can has a picture of a coated surface, and Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly sell it locally. Auto Zone doesn't. It's very easy to apply, no primer needed, and I like to blow dry the part or put it in an oven at 200º F. That really gets the stuff to wrinkle. You need a fairly thick coat, which will spray on flat, but it will wrinkle with intense heat.

I applied three fairly heavy coats and put the hair dryer to it for 5 minutes in between and about 10 minutes after. I was slightly worried I did it wrong or soemthing because it didn't seem to wrinkle until way later.
