changing valve springs without pulling a head

Where can I find the adapter for the spark plug hole to use the air compressor to hold the valve up, and what PSI does it need to be set to? I couldn't find the write-up (maybe I'm being lazy).

you could just use the pistons to keep the valves from falling. When I changed the valve stem seals on the Regal that's what I did. I just rotated the crank until the cylinder I was working on was at TDC.

I shoved some like 4 gauge power wire in and rotated up to hold the valves up. like the old rope trick without all the little frayed bits left in the cylinder.

just thought of maybe a balloon may work too
2003 pontiac bonneville Sle with kenwood sound system. Upgraded tweeters, door speakers, deck speakers, kenwood sub and amp. Rage r20 18inch rims. Front and rear KYB shocks and struts. GXP Strut tower brace.. She's a work in progress still

Personally, I'd rather rotate the piston in each cylinder to TDC as I did each valve set fr that cylinder than take a chance on loosing the compressed air out of the cylinder. Me, with my luck, I'd loose the air and the valve would drop into the cylinder. - BC

When I did this without rotating the crank, I remember using a compression tester fitting with maybe an adapter fitting to a male air line fitting? I used about 100 psi.

I used the adapter from the leak down tester from Harbor Freight.
