HID lighting question

I have tried to locate an aftermarket HID kit where the reflector will tilt in the same manner as OEM single HID head lights is both high and low beam. Has anyone seen a kit similar to that? Thanks - BC

Not sure I follow you on this one.

You are looking for a HID projector that is has both high beam and low beam in a single projector? Don't ask me why, but they are called Bi-Xenon.

Yup, those are Bi-Xenon projectors. They have a shield which flips out of the way to let all the light through.

Nothing plug and play functions this way.

Usually aftermarket HID kits are the same for bi xenon or single beam lights, the only thing that is different is the bulbs Plus the wiring harness for bi xenon functionality.

So, each side of a Bi-xenon set-up has two lamps? or a single lamp that has dual lamps like the old single incandescent headlight setup back early 1950's? or the reflector tilts to a different angle for high and low beam? - BC

I guess that depends on the kit. The projectors almost always have a flapper that 'cuts off' the light to provide the low beam. It's part of the housing, not a different bulb or harness for Bi-xenon vs. low beam only. HIDs take time to warm up when they come on, so the light is almost never switched on and off.
