steering wheel audio control

This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Post by wast3dd3ath »

How hard would it be to add the steering wheel audio controls to my 01 se. Any info will be appreciated, thanks.

It's actually not all that hard. You require the steering wheel, controls, clock spring (I believe it's a different part number for cars with steering wheel controls) and some wiring with the appropriate terminals to connect into the body control module (Instrument Panel Module if I recall correctly). There is no configuration change required, just the addition of the hardware.

Your head unit may not support steering wheel controls.

As long as the factory radio is installed, it supports steering wheel controls. Why do you believe it may not?
