window problem

Post by kpopbonn »

My front passenger side window motor will activate and the window goes down. but the window motor will not activate and roll window up. it will not roll up from the drivers side button or the passenger side button. I am able to slide it up and into position using my hands on each side of the window glass. Its a talent I possess. What do you think? bad motor? or electrical? THANKS in advance for your responses.

Although I do not post much, I read the forum several times each week. Love the Bonnevilles. Keep up the good work.

First step would be checking voltage at motor in both directions.

Definately agree with the above recommendation. Some follow up:

Power at the motor but motor does not turn: Bad motor brushes, they can be replaced, or the motor can be replaced.
No power at the motor: Verify with a known working DS switch, one or both have partially failed

The fact that you can raise it by hand is concerning

When you try to raise the window, do you hear the motor click or try to move it up?

IIRC the passenger side switch is similar to the rears, try one of those at the passenger door and see if it changes anything

no the window motor does not click or make any noise when you push the button up.

the back windows work up and down.
