New Bonneville owner

Post by manco989 »

Just Bought my first Bonneville a 2004 GXP the car is near perfect and has 61,000 miles. I hope to keep it in top shape doing most of the repairs myself after the dealer warranty expires in a few months. All ways liked the Bonneville's just never owned one and wasn't aware of the GXP trim level until recently. Just thought I'd introduce myself before becoming a active member of the community.

Glad you joined us and you are sooooooooooo luck to have a GXP. Wish I could. The Northstar engine in a Bonneville is like fitting a nicely assembled lady into a dress too small for them. Post photos when you can. I love the Bonneville GXP's. - BC

I've seen the GXP wheels painted and they look good. IMHO, I think they're some of the best looking stock wheels made. I'm working on replacing my set. When I bought my car, the previous owner opted to downsize to 17's to save money on replacement tires!!!! Who does that?

Right?! And they opted for wheels that look like Autozone hubcaps!! I SOOOOO can't wait to put stocks back on! ...and find someone to unload these on.

I've actually been told they look like a cross between hubcaps and CTS-V's!! HAHAHA

Yeah somebody made a poor choice on those. Your car is great looking though definitely needs the stock wheels and would love to see it all back together.

BTW I saw a couple stock rims lingering recently around ebay I think 1 was $180.

Thanks! Never been much of a fan of red (as I said, mostly ONLY black cars) but this one looks pretty good.

Thanks for the heads up but I'm actually working out a deal on a full set here soon. I did see those as well. :)

Me to but the GXP's look so good in that red. Black is horrible to maintain but I do like the dark look it has about it. Someone actually described my car as "Murdered out Pontiac" and it's stock.

Tint and powdercoated wheels would complete the look! :beerchug:

Welcome to the madness :)

Not a GXP, but I had black painted GXP wheels, tinted GXP tails, and GXP style tips on my black '03 SSEi, might give you and idea of what they would look like black. http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 43858.html

It's already tinted I don't want to go to dark because I had to peel my last car after 10+ written warnings

I assume NWI means north west Indiana, correct? Don't they allow tint, including full windshields in IN? I have a few friends over there that never get hassled and it's darker than mine. The other thing you could look into, and I don't know if it's the same in your state as it is in MI, but I have a Rx for tint. Most Optometrist will give you one. I've only been stopped once, for my truck, and they looked at the letter and let me go...
