Vibration at 40MPG and Higher
Vibration at 40MPG and Higher
So I have had my 2000 Buick Regal for 5 years now and has 230K.. Car run great however the passenger side will start vibrating starting at 40MPG and higher. When I let off the accelerator, no vibration at 40 and higher.. I have replaced:
Wheel hub
CV axle
Motor mount
Tie rods
Control Arm (including the ball joint)
New tires that have been balanced and rotated.
I have seen this type of problem posted in this Forum however I have not see anyone post the resolution...
Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Vibration at 40MPG and Higher
So I have had the same vibration issues as many of you out there. Replaced everything, rotated tires, etc. I put new tires on the front and my intermittent intensity shaking at various speeds Is gone!

Have you checked the strut mount? What about the subframe bushings?

My plans are to replace the entire strut assembly including the mount (strut needs to be replaced anyway).. Can you point me to what and where to check for the sub frame bushings?
Thanks for the help

Here's a good video of someone checking the fronts on a lift. Difficult to do the same way w/o one though.

I had a really bad vibration above 60 mph on a 2002 park ave. I replaced/checked many of the same parts you already have. When I was lifting to check for movement in the rear hubs, I noticed an issue. When I went to lift the car by the rear subframe, it lifted a good 4 inches or more before the unibody did. After replacing the bushings, no more vibration.

Thanks for your reply... Will give that a try.. Will post what I find.. May take a few weeks due to holiday...
Re: Vibration at 40MPG and Higher
Finally had a chance to change out the strut assembly... Yes this appears to have corrected the problem.. I still have a slight vibration which maybe that I need to get my tires balanced.. Hopefully I will have a 100% smooth ride once tires are balanced...
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

in the H body the cure is often to get the tires balanced with a Hunter Road Force balancer and put the 2 most balanced ones on the front.
