HID kit question

Post by haro1225 »

I am going to get the DDM kit and using the mini H1 projectors, so I'll get the H1 kit. Is there some kind of adapter needed so that it plugs into the 9006 plug?

The harness should have a female 9006 connector to get signal.

*EDIT* Meant female!

Glad you decided to go with the Mini H1. You're gonna love it. Retrofits are worth every hour you put into them!

literally got my DDM kit today. I got the 6000K bulbs with the harness. didnt get the 9006 adapter and I have everything I need. Also. Im guessing the wire with the fuse is power and the one without is ground? Then plugging it into your factory harness makes it turn on when the car tells it to? This kit is not labeled and has no instructions

That's pretty much how it works, I'm currently running a relay harness with my 9012's.
How long did it take to get the DDM kit anyways?

Not sure how the DDM kit is, but there should be a dedicated power and ground wire, a set of relays, and the trigger for the relay that uses the OEM headlamp connector. The ballasts are powered through the dedicated power and ground, not off the the OE harness.

At least 2 weeks if you didn't do any form of expedited shipping. This is my one beef with them as the sh*t has to come from China.

Got the bulbs today so I'm going to be starting this. There is 2 wires on the projectors, are those supposed to be for the high beams?

I miss my projector retro fit. RX330 projectors with Philips bulbs and RX330 ballasts.

At least they live on in Bill's car.

On the projector housing? or the bulb? The two on the housing should be if you got Bi-xenon projectors that would trigger the blocker in the lenses to unleash the full power of the projectors

If they are for solenoid for the bi-xenon model, just tap them to your high beams. You wont regret it.

Did you order the relay kit? I used the fuse that was included in the kit.

I had one already but the fuse had popped a while ago so I had the 9012's just with the stock wiring and I forgot which one it was.

Ok, I have these installed and everything, but now when I turn them on, only the right side comes on, and then sometimes only the left. But also they both turn on if I go on-off a couple times. Could this be crappy ballasts?

Which ballasts do you have? If they are the SS ballasts there is a recall on them. You *should* have DSPs. If that's the case, I'd recheck your grounds and make sure they are clean.
