Had the windows tinted 20% yesterday. I love how it looks. I also painted the exhaust tips with spare caliper paint from the GXP today too. This will be the Michigan cruiser this year.

Because I'm always worrying about *shoot* hitting the G8 like on the way to Woodward. Mostly though I'm not tempted to show off as much in this. The G8 begs for you to poke it with a stick.

Yeah, G8's like to show off. Just ask the state patrol officer that gave me a hard look yesterday when my tires broke free as I was accelerating from a stop light. He just looked at me from across the road and shook his head. Stupid freshly paved asphalt. . .

I want to be that OCD with my cars, but I can never find the time. Back when I worked shorter hours at my old job, the first thing I did when I got home was polish my cars. Now, most of the time I get home just as the sun is disappearing over the horizon.

Sure, I could detail in the dark, but the last time I did that, the car looked worse the next day!

I can be OCD as well, but I would much rather spend my time enjoying them as they were meant to be instead of worrying about every little thing to the point that I can't enjoy what I have

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't at all directing that towards anyone, more of a general statement

Depends on your definition of "enjoyment" though.

Driving the car daily, just to say you "drove" it, slugging through Chicago traffic (putzing along behind others that do 10 under the limit and are generally afraid in traffic, when your car wants to "GO"), inclement weather, piss-poor road conditions, etc, ISN'T "enjoyment" to me. Taking the car out for a nice, long, pleasurable, stress free cruise out west, where I can stretch the cars' legs, take liberties with posted traffic laws, and be a general delinquent with the car, like I did yesterday (4th time it's been out this year), IS "enjoyment". It also makes me appreciate the car and it's talents even more when I DO take it out to provide me this level of enjoyment.

I'd also like to add that another point of satisfaction or "enjoyment" for me, is now having a 10 year old car that looks and drives as well, if not better than some cars fresh off the showroom floor. The fact that I will plan on it still being in such condition in another 10 years, still taking it out, and still having fun with it then, as I do now, and as I did 10 years ago, is "enjoyment" to me. Additionally, as my Son gets older and is REALLY now getting into cars, the satisfaction of taking him with on cruises in said car, will give him memories of Him and his father long after I'm taking a dirt nap, and hopefully he'll get to do and share the same thing with his children remembering how his father did it with him.

I hate to say it, but I almost never have time to just "enjoy" my cars anymore (used to cruise all over the state in the LeSabre). I try to keep them clean, but with them sitting under a tree most of the day, that doesn't happen. I also don't get to take an enjoyable cruise out to the middle of nowhere anymore either, usually due to all the stuff I do at home.

For example, this past Saturday, I had planned on taking the G8 out in the country for a nice drive, but, the washing machine decided to take a dump Saturday morning. So, that was my weekend!

One of these days though, I'll get to relive that feeling!

No worries, I was just adding reasons for me wanting to take it on this trip. Next time I go somewhere I'll probably be in the G8. Not sure where yet, Ohio is still on my list and I kinda want to go to St Louis and Six Flags still. (Failed birthday plans. Lol)

Off topic ish. Has your GTO ever been out of the garage so much Lane? It may start to have withdrawals and need blower therapy.
